How to see who unfollowed you without giving your password

Instagram doesn’t tell you when someone unfollows you. The safe way to find out is to compare two official exports of your account.

How the comparison works

Each export is a snapshot of your follower list on that day. Comparing today’s snapshot with one from a few weeks ago shows who left, who joined and who you unfollowed.

  1. Make your first export and open it in the tool. It stays saved in your browser.
  2. After a few days or weeks, make a new export and open it too.
  3. Check the Changes between exports tab.

What shows up as “unfollowed”

The person didn’t always tap unfollow. An account also disappears from the list when it:

When someone only changed their username, the tool notices: the date you started following stays the same, and it shows “@old is now @new”.

The more often, the more precise. With an export every two weeks, you know in which two-week window each person left.
