Privacy
Privacy Policy
- Your Instagram file is read on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- No sign-up, no login, no user database. We never ask for your Instagram password.
- What you open is stored only in this browser, until you delete it.
- The site is free because it shows Google ads. The ads use cookies, and you choose whether to allow personalized ones.
- We don't show ads on the screens that display your lists.
1. Who is responsible
Quem Não Me Segue is run by Antônio C. Morais, an individual based in Brazil. He is the controller of the little data described here and also handles privacy requests (data protection officer). For any privacy matter, write to [contact email]. We reply within 15 days.
2. What the tool reads in your file
When you open your Instagram export, the tool reads on your device:
- Followers, following, pending requests and profiles you recently hid or unfollowed.
- Threads followers and following, if they are in the file.
- Likes and comments, if you included them, only to count how often you interacted with each profile.
- Direct messages, if you included them: the tool counts how many messages each person sent and when. Message text, photos and audio are not stored or shown.
Everything not needed for the lists is ignored. No part of the file is sent over the internet, not to us, not to Google and not to any other service.
Other people's data. The lists show other people's usernames, as they already appear in your own Instagram. They are only for you to organize your account, stay on your device and are never published or shared by us.
3. What is stored on your device
- The exports you opened (up to 10), your marks (Unfollow, Keep, Won’t open) and your cleanup progress are kept in browser storage (IndexedDB and localStorage), only on this device and in this browser.
- We also keep small preferences there: light or dark theme, language, whether you have seen a notice, and your cookie choice.
- We have no access to any of it. If you switch devices or browsers, or use a private window, the data does not come along.
- To delete everything: tap Erase everything from this browser in the tool, or clear the site's data in your browser settings.
4. What leaves your device only if you ask
- Backup: the backup file or code is created on your device and stays with you. Keep it safe, because it contains your lists.
- Opening a profile: the button takes you to Instagram. From there, Instagram's policy applies.
- Reminders: if you create a reminder, its title and the site link go to Google Calendar or your device's calendar.
- Sharing: WhatsApp or the share menu only receive a message with the site link, never your lists.
- Suggestion box: what you write, the message type and your email (only if you give it) are sent to our email through the Web3Forms service or your own email app. We use them only to read and reply, and delete them within 12 months. Don't write passwords or other people's data.
- Copy: what you copy goes to your device's clipboard.
5. Ads, cookies and measurement
The site is free and supported by Google AdSense ads. When you visit the site, Google and its partners may use cookies and browser identifiers to show ads, limit repetition, prevent fraud and measure results, including based on visits to other sites. This happens on any site with Google ads and has nothing to do with your Instagram file.
Where ads appear. Only on the home page, before you open your file, and in the guides. The screens that show your lists and usernames have no ads. We never pass the content of your file, your lists or your marks to Google or anyone else.
- Accept: allows personalized ads and usage measurement.
- Only necessary: ads still appear but are not personalized, and usage measurement is off.
- You can change your choice at any time with the Cookies link in the footer or by clearing the site's data.
- Visitors from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland see Google's consent message, which follows the European standard (TCF), and ads follow the choice made there.
Usage measurement. We use Google Analytics to count general actions, such as “opened the tool” or “saw the result”, and general visit data, such as country and device type. It never includes usernames, lists or the content of your file, and it is only turned on if you tap Accept.
Manage personalization in Google My Ad Center. Learn more in How Google uses cookies in advertising and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Hosting and technical logs
As with any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs technical data for each visit, such as IP address, date and time, browser and page visited. These logs are for security and operation, do not reveal what is in your files, and are kept for 6 months, as required by Brazilian law, or for the provider's period.
7. Why we may process this data (legal bases)
- Personalized ads and usage measurement: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (LGPD art. 7, I; GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).
- Non-personalized ads, technical logs and security: legal obligation and legitimate interest (LGPD art. 7, II and IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(c) and (f)). In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, ad cookies depend on your choice in Google's consent message.
- Suggestion box messages: handling your request and our legitimate interest in replying (LGPD art. 7, V and IX; GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Reading your Instagram file happens only on your device, at your initiative. We do not receive that data.
8. International transfers
Google, the hosting provider and Web3Forms may process technical data outside your country, with the safeguards set out in applicable law and in their policies.
9. Children and teens
Instagram requires users to be at least 13 (or older where local law says so), and this tool is not meant for children under 13. Teens should use it with a parent or guardian. We do not target personalized ads at minors. If you are a parent and believe a child's data was processed here, contact us.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under Brazil's LGPD or the EU/UK GDPR), you may ask for access, correction, deletion, information about sharing, objection and withdrawal of consent. Since we do not keep your data on our servers, you control almost everything yourself on your device (section 3) and in the cookie notice (section 5). For ad data, you can also contact Google directly. You may complain to your data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD).
11. Security and scams
- The site uses a secure connection (HTTPS) and has no server that receives your files, so there is no database of ours that could leak your lists.
- Your Instagram .zip contains personal information. After using it, you can delete it from your device. Don't send this file to anyone.
- We never ask for your password, verification code, your .zip or payment, by email, Direct or WhatsApp. Anyone who does is not us.
- Quem Não Me Segue is independent and not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Important changes, such as a new type of data being processed, will also be announced in the tool.
