See who doesn’t follow you back on Instagram

Compares the accounts you follow with the accounts that follow you on Instagram, separates personal profiles from businesses and influencers, and shows who unfollowed you between one export and the next.

You need following and followers_1 (and followers_2, _3… if they exist). HTML or JSON both work.

Your file is read right here, on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and you never have to give your Instagram password to anyone.

How to download it from Instagram

  1. In the Instagram app, go to your profile and tap the menu ☰.
  2. Tap Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information → Create export.
  3. Choose your account, then Export to device.
  4. Under Customize information, select Followers and following.
  5. Date range: All time. Format: HTML or JSON.
  6. Tap Start export. When Instagram tells you it’s ready, download the .zip and open it here.

It can take a while. The file is usually ready within minutes or a few hours, but Instagram says it can take up to 14 days. It lets you know by notification and email, and the download link stays valid for 4 days.

Saves two reminders to your phone’s calendar: one in 3 hours, to download the file, and one in 15 days, for the next comparison. Nothing is stored on the site. Use Google Calendar? reminder in 3 hours · in 15 days.

Optional: who you interact with

In the same export, also select:

  • Likes and Comments: show how many times you liked or commented on each profile.
  • Messages: show who chats with you and reacts to your stories. The tool only counts the messages and never keeps what was written.

If you select Messages, choose Media quality: Low to keep the file small.

Forgot to select them? Request an export with just those items and open it here afterwards. The tool combines everything.

To see who unfollowed you

Every export you open is saved. Make a new one in a few days or weeks and the tool compares it with the previous one: who unfollowed you, who started following you and who you unfollowed.
